Transitions in Midlife
Midlife can be a time of upheaval and uncertainty. If you experience a mid-life transition, you may find yourself reassess - yourself, your relationships, your job or career. You probably experience changes in how your body looks and feels. You may experience a feeling of regret for the paths not taken or parts you never developed. You may feel a desire to pursue these paths thrown or explore undeveloped parts of yourself. Past trauma, injuries or other memories may surface or resurface.
You might find yourself drawn to new and unexpected ideas, interests, careers, or ways of being. For example, if you've been a goal or achieve your goals, you may feel impelled to do creative work or do things just for fun without worrying about reaching a particular result. If you were outgoing, you may find yourself wanting to spend time alone in reflection. If you've been shy or lonely, you may feel a desire to be more "everywhere" or spend more time with others. If you felt too dependent others, you may feel a pull to become more independent, maybe to boost your confidence and self esteem.
Carl Jung, a psychoanalyst Analytical thought that life is a journey toward wholeness, a process he called "individuation," and that the journey of each person contains elements in common with others, as well as elements unique to each individual (Jung, 1989). Mental health professionals Clark, SH and Schwiebert, VL (2001) used the metaphor of a loom to describe travel midlife a woman. They compare the trade for a Framework which a woman can weave a web of her own design, color and texture, interweaving the distinctiveness of his son lives in a unique creation. It can also pierce parts his life that no longer serve her, such as patterns of thought, behavior and self-image. The men, who have always been expected to emphasis on work and the outside world while keeping their emotions in check, at midlife often want to focus on their inner life, such as their feelings and intuition. Our culture is more and more people accept more easily the development of several parties themselves (Segel, 1996).
Pay attention to your inner feelings and thoughts in mid-life, regardless of calm or confusing, they appear, you will probably start towards a greater sense of integration and wholeness. Some ways to do it, alone or in combination, are reserving the time for yourself to see what was happening inside, art forms journal writing, drawing or using other express yourself, seeing your dreams, talking with other people facing similar changes, to engage in psychotherapy. In seeking support from a qualified professional can make the process less intimidating, and is particularly useful if you are struggling with trauma, or if your experience Internal adverse impact on your life. No matter how you undertake your journey quarantine, you may decide to make small changes in your life you may choose to make major changes, or you may decide not to make external changes. Sometimes, just recognizing and exploring your thoughts and feelings during this time, can provide you with a deep sense of renewal and satisfaction.
