Anyone who's ever been passionate about golf will find something to admire in Bobby Jones: Stroke of Genius, a staidly reverent biopic about one of the game's greatest champions. In the title role, Jim Caviezel suffers almost as much as he did in The Passion of the Christ, portraying Jones--who made history by winning golf's elusive Grand Slam (four top tournaments in less than four months) in 1930--as a passionately committed golfer who silently endured chronic pain (a spinal disorder prompted his early retirement at age 28), stomach ailments, emotional torment, and borderline alcoholism while maintaining amateur status in the sport he so magnificently dominated...

HANDLE YO BUSINESS

DO YOU WANNA GET PAID OR PLAYED

Hello my name is Dee Scott, I've been singing for as long as I can remember.  I am a single mom with 3 beautiful sons. My sons are extremely gifted in the arts, songwriters, vocalist and producers.  I have been telling them about the music business since I taught them their ABC's.

I love writing music also and I love writing poetry.  Although my grammar skills are not the best, my sister Angela helps me with all that!  Anyhow's, I have been telling my sons about how back in the day and even now, songwriters who did not learn the business side of the industry got ripped off badly, their songs are still being played today in commercials or movies and they are not getting a dime.

So, I have taught my sons about owning their studio masters, always get a copy of everything they do in the studios. Bring the CD-R Master to me so that I can copyright everything they do, also I have set up their ASCAP Writers/Publishers membership. My oldest and youngest are amazing songwriters and they both have mad vocal skills, I'm not just bragging cause I'm their mom it's true.

They are both a triple-double threat Intelligent, Talented and Handsome, they can Sing, Dance, Writer (poetry/songs) and Act. I have been corresponding with a very talented young gifted black Entertainment Lawyer about representing my sons regarding all business agreements/contracts. My eldest Darryl attended Hamilton Music Academy in L.A. and my youngest just graduated and is currently just starting out with a new group from the Hampton Roads, Virginia area.

Darryl has performed with the House of Blues gospel rooster on Sunset in L.A., he has recorded with Jackson Browne on "World In Motion" and other Browne track, Steven Siegal's "Under Siege II Soundtrack" and with the HOB Gospel Choir sang with the choir on Barbra Streisand's Timeless Tour.  Isaiah sang with the Virginia All State Choir with one of the highest tenor scores in his district, he also performed in a Gospel Workshop/Concert with Chester Baldwin.

My sister and her sons are amazing fine artist, her youngest and her eldest have won art contest in Northern, VA. Her eldest Leon attended The Art Institute of L.A.-California in Santa Monica and was featured on a Cox Cable TV Art Show. My sister has  a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree and is currently an art teacher and just received her Master's in Teaching. I took my sisters artwork and I made Cards, Postcards, Notecards, Calendar, Mousepad, Posters, T-Shirts, CD/DVD Music Video and we have just printed our 1st book, "Sisters, Don't Neglect Your Gifts". Had my 1st music video premier on Bobby Jones Gospel BET TV and now working on releasing my 2nd music video "Woman, Thou Art Loosed" about 4 little girls who grew up and combined their unique talents and encourage others to do the same. Now, we have almost 7,000 hits on YouTube, GospelTube and GodTube combined.  I set up an account on Songcastmusic and our singles are on sale on iTunes, AmazonMP3, Rhapsody, EMusic, Napster for only 99 cents. My goal now is to go thru CDBaby, ArtistMonitor/RadioWave - Mediaguide to get our music on over 2,500 radio stations commercial, non-commercial, college and digital downloads on varies internet radio stations.

I copyright all our works, music, book, commercial jingles, fine artwork, poetry etc.  My sister Angela and I have a new start-up company called D'Angela Publishing, two sisters with two talents Fine Art and Gospel Music. We want to encourage women and young people to pursue their gifts in the arts. So, we started with our own children who are extremely phenomenal talents. Today, the internet is an awesome avenue for anyone who has a passion and a desire to really make a dream deferred become a reality, JUST DO IT!, Don't let anyone or anything stop you. Go to the library and read starting your own business, about copyrights, publishing your own material, go online and create a website page to sale your stuff, set up a business bank account, link it thru PayPal and get busy. Make sure you own everything you do, don't let some music company or publishing company convince you to do a 80/20 or 70/30 deal with them getting and owning the larger portion of your art. You might find a good Entertainment lawyer to negotiate a contract for you and get a production or distribution deal and give them a 10% or 15% cut and you keep your 80%.  DON"T GET PLAYED, GET PAID! As I want to encourage you to do what God has sent you here to do and when you start making money, help others and bless others. Live a simple life, honoring God, don't be foolish with your money, 1st give back to God and then buy you some real estate, get a Roth IRA and make sure you get a Health and Life Insurance. Don't go buy a house you can't afford yet!, buying cars and clothes and bling bling. (smile) Buy you a condo/townhouse or build an apartment to rent out, invest in a franchise like Subway. Feed the hungry and clothe the nake. Let your money make more money! You can't ever out give God.

Being a single mom financially it is hard and we need sponsors to press and print everything, but I know that the sales and royalties from our music will help us accomplish our goals. We want to use a portion of the proceeds to help buy gifts for prisoners children during the Christmas season,  ask some gospel artist to minister and have a dinner in a nice hotel and give them their gifts. Always, leave your hands open to give to others and while you do watch God bless you!!
